WEO Welcomes New Chair

WEO is excited to welcome and congratulate our new Chair, Roger Pelissero. As a third-generation egg producer and Chair of Egg Farmers of Canada, Roger brings first-hand industry knowledge along with significant leadership experience to this new role.

The Chair handover between Roger and Immediate Past Chair, Juan Felipe Montoya Muñoz took place during the closing celebrations of the WEO Global Leadership Conference in Singapore,

On accepting the role, Roger thanked Juan Felipe for his dedication and service as Chair. “We’re grateful for your leadership over the past two years, and I look forward to continuing to work with you,” he said.

In his address to WEO members, Roger emphasised the importance of collaboration and ensuring that members’ voices help steer the organisation’s future: “I want you to know that I’m listening, and I welcome your ideas to help shape the path ahead.”

Roger was appointed to the WEO Councillors Board in 2021, and became Vice-Chair in 2024. He has also been a long-standing contributor as Chair of the WEO Sustainable Egg Production Expert Group. As WEO Chair, Roger will work alongside members from across the global egg sector for a two-year term, advancing the industry’s shared priorities and seizing the opportunities that arise.

“Together, we have already accomplished a great deal – and I believe the opportunities ahead of us are even greater,” Roger added. “I’m confident that the future of the global egg sector is bright.”
