Renowned Young Egg Leaders Programme opens for applicants

11 July 2025

Applications are open for the 2026-2027 cohort of the globally recognised Young Egg Leaders (YEL) programme, a World Egg Organisation (WEO) initiative. Aimed at supporting the next generation of leaders in the egg industry, this bespoke two-year development programme is exclusively for individuals on a clear trajectory to a senior leadership role within an egg producing or processing company.

“This programme provides unparalleled opportunities for emerging industry leaders that they might not otherwise have access to,” said WEO Chair, Juan Felipe Montoya Muñoz. “The unique industry visits and exclusive networking opportunities are designed to drive collaboration and growth for the Young Egg Leaders. We have already seen the difference this programme can make to the professional development of individuals and the positive impact it has on their egg businesses.”

Admission is selective and based on professional achievements, demonstrated career trajectory, and personal motivation. Successful candidates will commence their YEL programme in April 2026, coinciding with the WEO Business Conference.
“We are committed to delivering a programme that offers genuine value,” said Mr. Montoya Muñoz. “Participant input shapes the programme’s structure, ensuring it meets their needs and maximises their YEL experience.”

Current Young Egg Leader, Will McFall of Burnbrae Farms in Canada said: “The YEL programme has been beneficial in so many ways; not only have I gained leadership skills and industry knowledge, but it has been a great opportunity to build an incredible business network all around the world. In just a short amount of time, this programme has opened doors to business opportunities and strengthened pre-existing relationships.”

Applicants have until 24 October 2025 to apply or be nominated by a current WEO member. The programme is a WEO member-only initiative. Non-members can take part by registering their company as a WEO member.
