Established in order to foster existing talents within the egg industry, YEL provides a fast-track platform for applicants with thriving careers.

Meet the newest intake of inspiring Young Egg Leaders, participating in our 2024/2025 programme:

 

Bo Lei

China

As the Vice President of Sundaily Farm, Bo Lei is responsible for retail sales. After studying in the USA for 7 years and gaining experience in two large internet companies, she returned to Sundaily Farm in 2019, leading the e-commerce business to grow tenfold in her first year at the company.

Bo Lei is passionate about the egg industry and is excited to learn from the other great young leaders. She believes it is the duty of members of the egg industry to help promote the value of eggs and continue to pursue higher standards.

Chelsey McCory

USA

In her role as General Counsel at Rose Acre Farms, Chelsey is currently handling the legal side of almost every aspect of the company, while also being involved in overall leadership as a 3rd generation family member of the business.

Chelsey sees immense value in understanding the egg industry on a global scale to effectively navigate, advise, and help lead in a successful egg business; and believes the YEL programme provides opportunities to support this.

Christos Savva

Cyprus

Christos’s dual role as CFO and Head of Strategy at Vasilico Chicken Farm includes leading the accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis of the company, as well as directing the overall strategy for the next 10 years. He is a 3rd generation family member of the business and is proud to have led the organisation through a period of significant growth between 2020-2023. Christos assisted the local egg industry to promote the power of the egg as an affordable and low-impact food source.

Christos is excited at the prospect of expanding his industry knowledge, building a global network, and nurturing his leadership skills through the YEL programme.

Franswa Venter

Australia

As the Poultry Operations Manager at McLean Farms, Franswa oversees all aspects of poultry farming operations, encompassing both rearing and laying facilities, as well as the packing floor. His role involves strategic planning, daily operations management, and project leadership.

Over the course of the YEL programme, Franswa’s goal is to become an advocate for sustainable poultry farming, equipped with practical knowledge, leadership skills, and a robust network.

Mauricio Marchese

Peru

As CEO of Ovosur, Mauricio is responsible for leading the company across its countries and divisions. He has 13 years’ experience in the food and egg industry, being directly involved with different parts of the value chain.

Mauricio is passionate about aligning culture with strategy and leading complex teams through dynamic situations. He is excited to get to know egg leaders across the world that he can share experiences with, through the YEL programme.

Max Obers

Netherlands

As a Commercial Director at HATO BV, Max is responsible for driving the company’s targets and ensuring its future growth. His approach to achieving these objectives revolves around fostering a dynamic and high-impact team, while offering unwavering enthusiasm and dedication on a daily basis.

The YEL programme is of significant interest to Max due to its potential to support his role as the 2nd generation leader of his family company. Through the programme, he is eager to contribute more to our industry and ensure its continued success and evolution.

Maxim Bozhko

Kazakhstan

Maxim is CEO and co-owner of MC Shanyrak, a group of agro-business companies in Kazakhstan, which includes layer and stock farming, and feed mills. He also served as President of the Kazakhstan Egg Producers Association from 2017-2022.

He is excited to be part of a programme that values leadership, innovation, and sustainability in shaping the future of the egg sector. Maxim believes that the knowledge and skills gained from the YEL programme will not only benefit his personal growth, but also contribute positively to the advancement of the egg industry of Kazakhstan.

Sharad M Satish

India

Sharad is a 3rd generation egg farmer and also an egg processor. He has always had a passion for adding value to eggs and growing the industry.

Through the YEL programme, he hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the trends, challenges and opportunities in the global egg industry, better integrating himself by networking and building meaningful relationships with industry peers.

Tonya Haverkamp

Canada

Tonya is a 3rd generation full-time egg farmer who proudly works to promote eggs at any opportunity and actively represent egg and pullet farmers. She served on Egg Farmers of Ontario’s Board of Directors from 2020-2021.

Tonya has enjoyed the chance to be a part of the Egg Farmers of Canada Young Farmers program, as well as their national Women in Egg Industry program, and believes the IEC YEL Programme will provide her with a deeper global understanding of egg businesses and international dynamics.

Tonya Haverkamp

William McFall

Canada

Burnbrae Farms is a 6th generation family owned and operated Canadian company that has been producing eggs for over 80 years. Will is part of the 5th generation of the Hudson family and in his role as Director, Producer and Industry Relations, Will oversees egg supply to Burnbrae’s grading stations in Western Canada and is involved in industry work across Canada.

He is also a member of Burnbrae’s government relations working group and British Columbia’s Egg Industry Advisory Council. William believes the YEL Programme will help him grow personally and professionally in order to help carry the family business into the future.
